Cibopathy

Tony Chu is a cibopath, which means he can receive psychic impressions from the food he eats.  Fuits & vegetables give him the history of how the produce was farmed. However, eating any meat will give him vivid visions of how the animals were slaughtered.  This extends to all kinds of things.  The only exception to this is beets.

Later on,  it is revealed that Tony (and possibly all cibopaths) can absorb the abilities of who he eats.

As a trained police officer, Chu has had to pass certain physical training, and is capable of using hand-held fire-arms.
