Meet Tony Chu.
he doesn't like the taste of that

He's a thirty-something (or forty-something) man of Chinese-American descent. He has a huge family and a teenage daughter. Dark eyes, dark (receding) hair. Average height, and a lean (uh -- hungry) build. Tony Chu is almost always hungry, and almost never eats. He also has a secret. A weird secret.

Tony Chu is a cibopath; he can take a bite from anything and get a psychic sensation of what has happened to it.

That means he can take a bite of an apple, and get a feeling in his head about what tree it grew from, what pesticides were used on the crop, and when it was harvested. Or he could eat a hamburger, and flash onto something else entirely.

The only thing it does not work on is beets.

Consequently, Tony Chu eats a lot of beets.

From a future where the avian flu pandemic caused all poultry and fowl to be prohibited, he is a vice cop with the Philadelphia Police Department, trying to catch people smuggling chicken. He's been called a "By-the-book square that never met a department regulation you couldn't love." But the most powerful organization in the world wants him -- the FDA -- and he's tossed into the Special Crimes division to investigate their backlog of strange and sick cases. There's a boss that hates his everloving guts. A mysterious partner that shares the same talent. Bad food. Chickens. And paperwork. Mountains of paperwork.

Tony Chu is from Chew, and is the property of John Layman and Rob Guillory. He appears here solely for the purpose of role-playing in [community profile] milliways_bar, from which no profit whatsoever is being made. He is being represented visually by Ken Leung, because that's the author's inspiration for Tony's physical appearance.
